Concussion Clinic Melbourne & Geelong

Concussion Central is a physiotherapy practice specialising in concussion and vestibular conditions. We provide care for adults and children with dizziness, vertigo, headaches, imbalance and persisting symptoms after concussion at seven clinics across Melbourne and Geelong, and by telehealth.

Concussion Assessment and Management

The Concussion Central team has extensive experience managing concussion across all age groups, from children and adolescents to adults and athletes, including sport-related and non-sport-related concussions. Some people recover quickly from concussion, while others experience persisting symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, brain fog, neck pain, visual problems, fatigue, anxiety or difficulty concentrating.

Our clinic was established to provide a dedicated multi-system approach to concussion, identifying the underlying causes of your symptoms and guiding your recovery with tailored rehabilitation. From your initial assessment through to full return to sport, work, or study, we provide clear, structured support across each stage of recovery using the latest research and guidelines (eg. Australian Institute of Sport and Concussion In Sport Group Concussion Guidelines).

A Focused Approach to Concussion Care

Concussion Central was established to provide a dedicated approach to concussion assessment and rehabilitation, to properly assess, diagnose, and treat this complex condition.

Our team has extensive experience managing concussion across all age groups, from children and adolescents to adults and athletes, including sport-related and non-sport-related concussions. Our approach is informed by current research and contemporary concussion guidelines, ensuring every patient receives care that reflects the latest evidence.

What sets us apart is our commitment to truly understanding your symptoms. Rather than relying on generic advice alone, we assess how concussion may be affecting areas such as the vestibular system, visual system, neck, balance, cognition, exercise tolerance and your overall function. This allows us to identify the root cause, not just the symptoms.

Why Choose Concussion Central

Evidence-Informed Approach

Our team is highly trained in concussion management, using the latest research and evidence-informed assessment and rehabilitation approaches to guide your care.

Individualised Treatment Plans

No two concussions are the same. We tailor every treatment plan to your symptoms, assessment findings, goals, and stage of recovery.

Support Across Recovery Stages

From early assessment through to return to sport, work, school and everyday activities, we provide structured guidance based on your presentation and progress.

Vestibular Assessment & Management

Our team provides assessment and rehabilitation for a wide range of vestibular conditions causing dizziness, vertigo, imbalance and motion sensitivity including BPPV, vestibular neuritis, vestibular migraine and PPPD. We assess how the vestibular, visual and balance systems are working together to identify the factors contributing to your symptoms and develop an individualised treatment plan.

We manage both new and persistent vestibular symptoms, using evidence-based rehabilitation to improve balance, movement, confidence and tolerance to everyday activities. Assessment and treatment are tailored to your presentation and may include vestibular rehabilitation, cervical manual therapy, balance retraining, gaze stability exercises and habituation.
